„Nic nie jest jednorazowe, używaj wielokrotnie” – tworzymy nagrody dla fotografów z Chunchi.

W czwartek, (18.02.2010) rozpoczęliśmy tworzenie nagród. Będzie to ‘pakiet fotografa”, na który składa się torba na aparat, notes do zapisywania wrażeń/marzeń, ramka na ulubione zdjęcie i kto wie, co jeszcze… oby nie był za ciężki.

Ścinki materiałów, stare ubrania, popsute słuchawki do walkmana + ciężka praca + wytrwałość+ wiele radości+ niezwykła pomysłowość i zaangażowanie MILENY, dzieciaków i pań/panów ze świetlicy na Mokotowie = nagrody, jakich jeszcze nie było:)

Przy okazji, korzystając z materiałów grupy eFTe, poznajemy co ukrywa się za tajemniczym 3R.
Już zbieramy kolejne materiały- opakowania po chipsach czekają na przeróbkę:)

NOTHING IS UNIQUE USE IT SEVERAL TIMES we are creating the rewards and prices for the young photographers in Chunchi.

On Thursday (02/18/10) we started to began to create prizes for children in Chunchi, including everything that a photographer might need: the camera bag, a notebook to collect any ideas, dreams, a frame for a favorite picture, and who knows what else. Hopefully it will not be too heavy!

With paper, old clothes, old earphones from a walkman + hard work+ resistance+ a lot of happiness + great ideas from Milena, our Kids, and after school workers from Mokotow (Warsaw/Poland) = PRIZES THAT WE HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!
Additionally, by using the materials of eFTe group, we discover what the meaning of the 3Rs (REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE)

Important story about the beginnig of history....

We were waiting for this story from the first post, now we got it! I want to tell you about another Polish girl who had visited Ecuador before me. Her name is Kasia and is now living in Germany. She was THE ONE who brought the cameras to Chunchi!

Thanks to her they were in the Municipio drewers, waiting for reuse.

Below you have the story told by Kasia:

“The history began in Chunchi when children noticed my own camera put on top, immediately they wanted to take pictures by themselves and I let them. To be honest, I was a bit afraid of the camera being broken (unfortunately it was prophetic, the camera was a bit damaged afterwards;-). Where did the idea come from? Some time ago I read the article in Gazeta Wyborcza regarding the similar event held in Bieszczady (children were given cameras for one month, they took different photos and at the end the exhibitions were organized). I decided to do the same in Chunchi. I prepared the project and I went to don Eduardo, who gave me a big support. Also the mayor of Chunchi was in favour of this idea. At the beginning everything seemed to be easy… After some time we realized that nothing comes easy. If the idea was born in February, then it took couple of months during which we were looking for sponsors among different foundations (Polish consulate in Quito including – one employee became enthusiastic over the project, unfortunately his supervisor did not. More important issues were pending (like polish prisoners) and our project had to wait but maybe I called him in a bad moment… He was really nervous), asking the mayor for the money – I wanted the first exhibition to be held during the Fiestas de Chunchi. Finally, after having problems with money and sponsors…I was so angry that I paid out of my own pocket 7 cameras (now Marzena you are saying there are only three left, I wonder what happened to the rest?! I must add also that after many moans and groans Municipio gave me money back for the cameras bought). We started preparations quickly as the date of Chunchi fiestas was approaching. I had to convince some people from Municipio who where sceptical about giving the cameras to kids, they found the idea stupid and they said that the cameras would have been stolen. Especially when they found out that Wilmer Mancheno would take part in the project. Now I realise that it was my biggest success – Wilmer changed for the better and the sceptical people started to trust him. The boy is very calm, open and is attending the school (before he could stand only two months at school or was expelled).

All in all, during the fiestas de Chunchi there was a small exhibition “Chunchi desde la Mirada de los ninios”, during which only 15 photos were presented. Later on we wanted to organize other expos in Riobamba and Cuenca but unfortunately we failed. So I was really happy hearing that you are developing the project. I keep my fingers crossed for the further development”.

FRIDA KAHLO

Mi padre, Guillermo Kahlo, era muy interesante...aprendio fotografia y se convirtio a su vez en fotografo professional. Guillermo poseia una faculdad de observacion exacerbada por su curiosidad de extranjero, por la fascinacion que Mexico ejercia sobre el. Aquella nueva ocupacion le permitiria satisfacer la sed de novedades que al principio fue a buscar tan lejos de su casa. Paso a paso, descubriria lugares insolitos, facetas de aquella cultura...

Es por eso que Guillermo, de una manera natural, no pudo encerrarse en uno de aquellos estudios que habia en todas las capitales y que eran el orgullo de los fotografos convencionales y la alegria de las familias. Esas pequenas y falsas cavernas de Ali Baba, con paisajes y vestidos que os transportaban como en un sueno hasta el Extrema Oriente, nubes de quita y pon y sombrillas de papel de seda, carrozas de carton,baldaquinos,tronos de yeso, animales artificiales...

El fotografo Kahlo se dedico a Mexico, casi exclusivamente a Mexico.

El suegro le presto una camara y lo primero que hicieron fue salir de gira por la Republica. Lograron una coleccion de fotos de arquitectura indigena y colonial y regresaron, instalando el primer despacho en la avenida 16 de Septiembre, que es mucho decir!

Niejeden artysta, mógłby tylko pozazdrościć takiego towarzystwa. Wielcy, są z nami codziennie i dzielą się swoimi historiami. Wśród nich : Jose Lezama Lima, Ramon Maria del Valle- Inclan, Benito perez Galdos, Luis Bunuel, Frida Kahlo, Antonio Machando, Pablo Ruiz Picasso.

Under the roof of Instituto Cervantes, Warsaw.

Desde el 15 de febrero del 2010 estamos en el Instituto de Cervantes, en Varsovia. Este es el lugar donde hay mas densidad de gente que conoce o esta aprendiendo el Espanol aqui en Varsovia. Esta es la gran razón por la cual hemos elegido este lugar para nuestra exposición.

Esperamos que los estudiantes, profesores y visitantes del Instituto nos ayuden a traducir los comentarios que han dejado las personas que han visto sus fotos.

Si no podemos hacer esto, tendremos obligatoriamente que prestar todos los diccionarios Polaco-Espanol de la biblioteca del Instituto y llevarlos a Chunchi :)

Pod dachem Instytutu Cervantesa.

Od 15.02.2010 r. gościmy w Instytucie Cervantesa w Warszawie. Jest to miejsce, o największym zagęszczeniu osób znających bądź uczących się języka hiszpańskiego w tym mieście. Był to główny powód, dla którego wybraliśmy się z wystawa właśnie tu.
Mocno wierzymy w to, że uczący się studenci, pracujący nauczyciele czy tez odwiedzający Instytut goście włączą się w akcje. Czekamy na pomoc w tłumaczeniu wpisów, które wielu ludzi po obejrzeniu zdjęć zostawiło dla młodych fotografów.
Jeżeli nie uda nam się tego dokonać, to będziemy zmuszeni wypożyczyć z biblioteki wszystkie polsko-hiszpańskie słowniki i dostarczyć je do Chunchi;)

Chuncheños, pequeños y los más grandes - LOS FOTOGRAFOS UNICOS!

Gracias a Ustedes la cosa como esta, podría empezar. No me imagino el Chunchi sin Ustedes. Su colaboración, determinación estuvo grandísima. Para nosotros seis de la mañana estaba un poco temprano, para ustedes esta hora era la única ocasión para tomar fotos de un hermoso amanecer :)

Algunas veces tuvieron que explicar mucho a los adultos: que ustedes no han robado las cámaras, que fueron prestadas para tomar las fotos. Para algunos esta cosa estaba muy complicada. La vida de un fotógrafo no es fácil.

Quiero decirles que aquí en Varsovia- POLONIA, mucha gente admira sus fotos. Dicen que están muy bien hechas, que explican mucho sobre la vida cotidiana (que significa – un buen fotoreportaje) y que están llenas de colores y de calidad.

Ya tenemos 39 páginas del libro, que cada día se está escribiendo. Los adultos y los chicos de más o menos su edad, están viniendo a su exposición y escriben sobre las fotos que pueden ver: sobre su talento dejan felicitaciones y buenos deseos (algunos dicen que quieren visitarlos- les invitan a Chunchi?). Ellos también están compartiendo sus sueños y parte de “Su Mundo”, como ustedes lo hicieron por medio de sus fotos.

Les transcribo un fragmento de este libro, de la página 11 “Las fotos son hermosas, tan coloridas y alegres. Ustedes seguramente son también personas de muchos colores, cálidos y amigables, aunque sean muy jóvenes aún”(Karolina y Stefka) y de la pagina 36 que dice: “Me gusta la foto de los caballos- bacan”! (Mateusz)

No me imagino la acción sin Ustedes- el otro aburrido evento de los adultos:)

Tydzień na Mokotowie

Od wtorku (09.02.2010) wystawa zagościła w Świetlicy na Mokotowie. To miejsce, gdzie zbierają się młodzi Warszawiacy po szkole, żeby odrabiać lekcje i uczestniczyć w różnych ciekawych zajęciach. Przychodzą tam również młodzi fotoreporteży, którzy dokumentowali Warszawę by pokazać ją kolegom z Chunchi (cały czas trwa praca nad materiałem - jest juz kilka super prezentacji.)

Dziekujemy za cieple przyjęcie, pomoc (tacie Mateusza za wiertarkę) oraz dbanie o wygląd wystawy- tym razem prawie kazżde zdjęcie miało swoja antyramę!

Tych, którzy jeszcze nie zostawili swojego śladu, zapraszamy do umieszczania komentarzy, opowieści, pytań :)

Yvonne, Germany.While I was searching for a school in Ecuador to deliver some letters from 8 german kids (they have been curious and wanted to get to known some ecuadorian kids..) I met Marzena in the bus... she convinced me to come to Chunchi with her and finally we spend a beautiful time with a lot of enthusiastic kids... reading, writing and drawing letters to the other end of the world...

From Chunchi to the world....

My name is Alexandre, I come from France and I was making an internship in Chunchi when Marzena arrived. I remember when the project « Chunchi vista desde la mirada de los ninos » first started.
The idea was to enable the kids of Chunchi to take photos of their own life, of their own houses, of their village, of their own land. We weren't sure that we could endorse the responsibility of giving numeric camera to a 10 years old kids. Quickly, the enthusiasm of Marzena got rid of those legal aspects and the project started.
It was fun to see how the kids were amazed to have this possibility. They weren't jumping for joy – the seranos kids are very shy and in some way, unfathomable- but we could see in their eyes that they were thankful. Now the bad part of their enthusiasm was to be waken up in your bed at 6 o'clock on Sunday morning by some kids asking for their camera: « What do you want the camera for? It is still night out there! » was I thinking/grumbling... Fortunately, Marzena is more patient than I am!
During months, kids of all the village were entering and leaving from our house in order to use the camera. We stored the photos on a computer and some USB keys. After 3 months we had enough pictures to set an exposition in the main square of Chunchi. We asked the support of the alcaldia de Chunchi and Eduardo Espinoza, head of the department for social actions, agreed to help us. An old carpenter of the village gave us some sticks and strings in order to expose the kid's pictures.
When we first put the photos in the square, people were surprised. They asked: « What is it for? Are you going to sell it? No?! So why are you doing this? ». The chunchenos are not used to that form of art. This exposition was a new thing for them but they appreciated it very quickly. Some people were surprised and pleased to appear on some photos. So pleased that some of them would bring their friends in order to show them the pictures!
We used the photos a second time during las fiestas de Chunchi in July. It was a really sunny day and the square was full of people. It was really a huge success that time. Some kids were really proud of showing their own clichés to their friends and family.
Three months after coming back to France, I received an e-mail from Marzena saying: “today we received a visit from Chunchi's kids in Varsovia...”. The idea was great. The photos from Chunchi would continue to travel with us and one day maybe, would come back to them!
As soon as I can I will try to set the same exposition in Paris. Soon. Very soon.

LA VIDA ES UNICA (como la exposicion) VIVELA!

Los Caballos in Zachęta.

It was April Saturday. Together with Marta, Bayron and Jony we went for a bike ride to look for interesting places and animals around, we had cameras with us. However, fog, as it is in this period in Chunchi, quickly hide the entire surroundings. It was difficult to see even the path we were riding on, not to mention animals and other miracles:) As soon as pasturing in the valley horses emerged from beyond the curtain, Jony run down to them and took beautiful photos. It was literally a few moments, later we were looking each other a few longer;). I appreciate for reflex and courage and what appreciated GW’s photo reporters, see below.

Last Wednesday (2/3/10) at The National Gallery - Zachęta in Warsaw took place the inauguration of thematic meetings with photographs and photo editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza". The first meeting was about the nature photos. From great number of photos sent by readers Beata Łyżwa-Sokół, Gazeta’s photo editor, Adam Wajrak photograph, naturalist and journalist and Wojtek Surdzial Gazeta’s photographer, chose and assess those which they liked most.

On the exposition we put the notebook were those who visit us could write their reflections.

People had started to write in this DIARY- about this what they think about exposition, photos and sometimes they were writing about their dreams, thier world etc

One day I saw in a diary the notes that one girl left. "Kids, you shared your own beautiful world with us- I would like to share my world with you'. So ,I throught is't this a perfect idea!

We had started the Accion- "They shared their word with you- so share your own with them”.
People could bring or send pictures from" their world". Also the youngest guests of the exposition, were sharing their world with Chunchenos- they were painting and also writing a lot of questions to them. "What time do you go to school?/Do you have the snow over there?" etc.

Now we have really great collection which will go to Chunchi:)

Niezwykly fotoreportaż!

Było super! Młodzi fotoreporterzy, mieli za zadanie odnaleźć zdjęcia z Ekwadoru, które były ukryte w rożnych ciekawych miejscach w Warszawie, m.in. w Instytucie Cervantesa, kafejce przy Polskiej Agencji Prasowej, Uniwersytecie Warszawskim. To cale poszukiwanie miało być udokumentowane na zdjęciach. Zadanie zostało wykonane! O 14 spotkaliśmy sie wszyscy w Cafe Colombia na Nowym Świecie - na gorąco zaczęliśmy opowiadać o swoich przygodach. A bo ten żul, ten glina, ta pani z biblioteki itd. Mówili o trudnościach i radościach, jakie mogą cię spotkać przy robieniu takich reportaży;) Czytaliśmy też fragmenty wypowiedzi R.Kapuścińskiego dotyczące fotografii. Poprzez zdjęcia i filmiki zapoznawaliśmy sie z naszymi kolegami z Chunchi i ich górskim miasteczkiem. Zrodziło sie mnóstwo pytań na temat jedzenia, języka, szkoły, środków transportu (np. na osiołkach też tam jeżdżą?), mam nadzieję, że już niedługo będą mogli sobie na nie odpowiedzieć:) Trzeba będzie popracować jeszcze nad językiem a tych do wyboru jest wiele (np. polski, hiszpański, Quichua, język gestów itd;) Młodzi fotoreporterzy otrzymali też notesy i długopisy, w których mogą relacjonować swoje przygody. Teraz czeka ich tydzień pracy nad zebranym materiałem m.in., opis i wybór najlepszych zdjęć. Na koniec nasze spotkanie osłodziła pyszna czekolada, za którą Cafe Colombia "słodko dziękujemy". Dziękujemy wszystkim co mają w nas wiarę, pomagają i kibicują naszym działaniom. W akcji STOP KLATKA udział wzięli; Młodzi fotoreporterzy: Patrycja 12 lat, Dominika 12 lat, Kacper 10 lat, Mateusz 13 lat Sebastian 12lat, Łukasz (Gigant). Przebieg akcji dokumentował: Maciek (Kokos) nad bezpieczeństwem czuwał: Staszek, z uśmiechem zawitała Martynka. Gościli nas Michał i dziewczyny z Cafe Colombia (Nowy Świat) i jak zawsze zrozumienie, poparcie i uśmiech okazywali Sandra i Łukasz z Cafe Colombia (Mokotowska).

A unique photo report!

Saturday (1/30/10)young photographers from Warsaw went into the city and tried to catch two hours of its life. They had to find fotos from Chunchi hidden in many different places in Warsaw (Instituto Cervantes, cafe of Polish Press Agency, University of Warsaw etc.).
Short summary: they did really good job!

Fotoreportaje unico!
